dear warrior is my very first book inspired by a soul’s journey through mental illness, love, loss, and the unknown, flowing from sunset to sunrise 💛

its three chapters are an emotional dipping into life’s dark, uncertain times and inspiration to fight for better days.

I wrote these words to remind every warrior they are never alone, of their resiliency traversing dark and light. that there is always magic left to be found, and even on the darkest nights, day break is never too far away 💛

it’s easy to miss the past, the bright green leaves and sweet blossoms of spring. the summer sun on your face and crisp fall breeze. but every season has its cycle and everything has its timing. the waiting is not wasted time. rest assured — from this barren rest will come something beautiful 🖤

the darkest shadows of this world that have linger

the darkest shadows of this world that have lingered for so long are slowly coming into the light,

and I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t taken its toll on me, that it hasn’t shaken the very core of all I’ve come to believe.

I watch as the powers that be divide and slowly conquer,

sitting atop their hill while the rest devolve into hate and madness;

harming in the name of justice,

oppressing in the name of freedom,

dividing in the name of inclusion.

I feel like I live where down is up and up is down, where lies parade as truth and all who dare to speak honesty are destroyed. where different opinions are no longer allowed at the table — please never forget the ones who censor and ostracize are never on the right side.

despite it all,

keep me tender.

let my heart not be hardened by manufactured fear and hate.

keep my hopes louder than my fears.

keep my soul honest and hold me in integrity.

keep me brave.

let my voice roar in seas of same faces when it must, for I will not weep being outcasted in a mad world.

though wool has been pulled over so many eyes, we are much greater than earthly labels and issues. there is too much love and magic and light and I will fight for this place and the souls who find themselves here.

and when the choice falls onto you,

I pray you use your mind.

I pray you stay tender and hold your head high,

that you walk with integrity and always stand up for what is good and right.

I know you’ve been carrying these weights around your heart for so long, the ones no one else can see

I know you get up each day, and on the hard ones you plaster a smile onto your face and get on with it anyway

I see you trying your best and making your way

thank you for making it to this moment,

because the truth is, you could have thrown in the towel anytime

and maybe at times, that felt easier than trying to work through the struggles you’ve gone through

but you didn’t

you never quit

you keep showing up, keep gracing this world with your presence and energy

you are so important here - despite all the aches and pains, thank you for choosing life 🤍 2022 awaits your magic
